On the 12th of June, Kong, a primary five student of SISB, took part in the Chinese Language Proficiency Competition organized by Tong Hua Daily News. He clinched the 4th prize among the 300 participants. The first 3 winners come from Thai-Chinese speaking background while Kong comes from only Thai speaking background. This makes his winning more significant as his parents do not speak a word of Chinese. His knowledge in Chinese is acquired from his learning of Chinese in our school. In view of this, the Chinese Ambassador in Thailand, His Excellency Mr Guan Mu presented the prize to him personally and took a photo with Kong and his mother. Kong’s mother expresses her gratitude to the school and staff of SISB for the great job done in helping Kong in the mastery of the Chinese Language. SISB is proud of Kong’s achievement. On behalf of the school, we wish Kong a bright and happy future.

SISB adopts the Singapore-based curriculcum which encompasses life skills, knowledge skills and content-based subject discipline.
Life skills ensure that the studens acquire sound values and skills to take them through life as responsible adults and active citizens. Example of such skills are ECA, CME, PE, Health Education, counselling and sexuality education for P5 and above.

Our 2009 iPSLE results 6 SISB students enrolled for the Singapore national examinations, known as iPSLE in August 2009. While 5 candidates took the full examination in all four subjects, 1 candidate sat for the English language and Mathematics examinations only.
Results were announced earlier today and we are proud to inform parents that our students have clinched 3 A* and 12 A, out of a total number of 22 papers. That means 68% of our score are quality passes in the upper percentile.
In addition, 3 out of the 6 students (50% of the candidates) were awarded straight A’s in all four subjects – a feat that is not easy but we are proud to achieve today!
I would like to congratulate our 6 students for their accomplishment and we wish them every best in their future endeavours.

We are proud to announce that our ex-student, Ms. Warinporn Phantratanamongkol (Minky) has been awarded an ASEAN scholarship by the Singapore Ministry of Education. This prestigious scholarship allows her to pursue her upper secondary and college education in Singapore for four years, after which she may continue her tertiary education in a university.
Minky had studied in SISB since she was in primary one and she took the iPSLE in August 2007. The iPSLE was a good benchmark of her academic standard against the national standard of a primary school in Singapore. Her many years of learning in SISB gave her the academic foundation and technical knowledge that she needed to take the scholarship examinations.
New SISB Branch in Srinakarin (SISS) We are pleased to announce that we have a new branch (Singapore International School Srinakarin) near to Seacon Square. This new school is already operational and it has nursery and kindergarten classes using Singapore resources to teach English, Chinese, Mathematics and Science. Council of International School (CIS) We are glad to inform parents that SISB has been granted a regular CIS membership and we are now in the stage of self study. We are committing ourselves to improving in all aspects of the school and of the curriculum. To find out more, please click here.
